The New Consumer Duty: What to know
"Consumer Duty needs to be considered at every stage of your process and at every level of your organisation."
The FCA’s Policy Statement 22/9, better known as the Consumer Duty, is possibly the most radical regulatory overhaul since RDR some ten years ago. It brings with it a series of deadlines, the first of which is the 31st of October, by which point advice firms must have their implementation plans documented and ready to share with the regulator, if requested.
At this year's Square Mile Investment Conference, Head of Discretionary Investment Management at threesixty services, Vanessa Johnson, walked us through this significant FCA initiative, the impact it will have on firms and what should be top of mind as the first deadline approaches.
To support you, we have also created a short guide to the new Consumer Duty which highlights some of the key areas of focus for adviser businesses and provides a range of tips and suggestions to ensure readiness for August 2023.
