Diane Earnshaw

Research & Consulting Director

Diane leads the Research and Consulting team at Square Mile overseeing the fund and manager selection process and is a member of the responsible investment committee. Diane is responsible for managing the consulting process and output as well as looking after a number of investment consulting clients. She regularly attends external investment and governance committees providing strategic and governance oversight to many different clients. She is a regular press commentator. Diane is a member of the Management Team at Square Mile.

Focus: Multi-asset, ESG research

John Monaghan

Research Director

John is responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery of Square Mile’s research output across client channels, the development of the research team, as well as working with some of Square Mile’s consulting clients. He is also a member of the Research and Consultancy Management Team. John is the lead analyst for UK equity funds.

Focus: UK equities

Amaya Assan

Head of Fund Origination

Amaya is Head of Fund Origination, where she ensures that the research team efforts are focused on delivering the firm’s key research priorities. She also leads on the firm's equity coverage of Europe, Asia and the Emerging Markets and is a member of the Research & Consulting Management Team, helping in the management of the firm's research process and output. Prior to this, she was a senior investment research analyst for Morningstar OBSR. Amaya holds the Investment Management Certificate and has 24 years of experience in fund manager research and selection across a wide range of asset classes.

Ittan Ali

Research Manager

Ittan focuses on Alternatives research as well as supporting coverage of specialist funds. He previously managed research at Collidr Asset Management. Prior to that Ittan was a Senior Multi-Asset manager for a number of family offices and was a quantitative analyst at Schroders. Ittan holds the ASIP qualification and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (MCSI).

Nick Bennett

Quantitative Research Analyst

Nick primarily focuses on risk-targeted, passive and systematic funds but has a wider coverage over other sectors from a quantitative perspective. He is also involved with the performance and risk monitoring of Square Mile’s Model Portfolio Service and providing updates to clients.

Focus: Risk-targeted, passive, systematic

Tara Dorricott

Team Assistant

Tara supports the Research and Consulting Team, managing fund holdings data, providing admin support, and carrying out general assistant duties.

Alex Farlow

Associate Director - Multi Asset Research

Alex is responsible for multi-asset fund research. Alex also leads on a number of consulting clients accounts, which involves attending investment committees and providing strategic and fund oversight. He is also involved in producing Adviser Insight reports and regularly comments in the financial press.

Focus: Multi-Asset, Risk-targeted

Kayleigh Galvin

Quantitative Research Associate

Kayleigh primarily supports our Research Analysts and Investment Team with quantitative research and performance data. She also conducts research into passive funds and holds a BSC in International Business having spent a year abroad in Singapore during her studies

Scott Heaney

Investment Research Analyst

Scott’s research coverage spans a variety of sectors including the global income, UK income, property, absolute return and fixed income sectors. He also contributes to a number of our consultancy clients. Scott previously worked as a financial advisor, having gained a BEng in Mechanical Engineering, the IMC and the Diploma in Personal Finance.

Focus: Global Equity Income, UK Equity Income, Property, Absolute Return, Fixed Income

David Holder

Senior Investment Research Analyst

David focuses on Investment Trust research as well as augmenting coverage on a number of regional and specialist funds. He has previously held senior manager research positions at Edison Group, Hargreaves Lansdown, Investec Wealth & Investment and Morningstar. David is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (FCSI).

Ibrahim Ishmail

Investment Research Associate

Ibrahim works alongside the Head of Fund Origination and is responsible for conducting qualitative & quantitative research, and manager selection for the Asia, Emerging Markets, UK Smaller Companies and Japan equity sectors. He also previously covered European and Specialist strategies. Ibrahim previously worked as an Analyst at SG Wealth Management and Barclays Wealth Management before joining Square Mile in 2021.

Focus: Asia, Emerging Markets, UK Smaller Companies.

Charlie McCann

Investment Research Analyst

Charlie focuses on Global and US equity funds, and multi-asset funds. He joined from NLP Financial Management where he was an analyst covering all core asset classes, with a particular focus on sustainable investing. He holds a BSc in Politics and Economics from the University of East Anglia. He also holds the Investment Management Certificate and has passed the Level I CFA examination.

Focus: Global and US Equity, Multi-asset

Jade Mison

Consulting Operations Manager

Jade supports the 3D, Research and Consulting Management Team in producing the consulting output and helps to deliver the various initiatives across the business.

Jake Moeller

Associate Director - Responsible Investment

Jake Moeller is Associate Director – Responsible Investing, at Square Mile Research. He is responsible for supporting the ESG and sustainability research capability of 3D Investing, providing independent verification of funds’ responsible investment claims. He is also involved in managing Square Mile’s investment consulting output and has fund research responsibilities in global equity income and property. Jake sits on City Hive’s ACT Stewardship Council and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

Focus: Global equity income, Property, ESG

Guilherme Pampolin

Investment Research Associate

Gui focuses on conducting research and analysis on Responsible Investment (RI) funds, as well as the development and evolution of the 3D assessment framework of ‘Do Good’ ‘Avoid Harm’ and ‘Lead Change’. He also collaborates with the data team to efficiently structure and integrate ESG factors into Square Mile’s research process and associated reporting. Gui has previously worked as a quantitative risk analyst for commodities, with an emphasis on renewable energy and as an investment advisor. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and is a CFA level II candidate. He also holds the Investment Management Certificate.

Tom Poulter

Head of Quantitative Research

Tom leads the team who quantifiably assess the funds researched by the research team at Square Mile, as well as monitoring from a performance and risk perspective Square Mile’s Managed Portfolios. He also conducts research on all of the passive and systematic funds in the academy. Tom is also a member of the Research and Consultancy Management Team. He holds the Investment Management Certificate and is a Chartered Financial Analysis.

Focus: Passive, Systematic

Eduardo Sanchez

Associate Research Director - Fixed Income, Alternatives & Multi-Asset

Eduardo is responsible for the research processes and output of the fixed income, alternatives and multi-asset funds to ensure they meet the needs of the Square Mile Academy of Funds and the needs of Square Mile’s clients. He is also a member of the Research and Consultancy Management Team. Eduardo regularly comments in the financial press and produces articles on topics within his specialist research areas. He holds the Investment Management Certificate, CFA and CAIA designations.

Focus: Fixed income

April Tsai

Sustainable Investment Analyst

April is a Sustainable Investment Analyst with the 3D team at Square Mile. She contributes to research on sustainable funds across equities, fixed income, and multi-asset classes, and produces 3D reports. Additionally, she is responsible for maintaining the proprietary 3D methodology.

Ajay Vaid

Senior Investment Research Analyst

Ajay focuses on Global, North American, and Japanese equity funds. He joined from Tilney Smith & Williamson where he led coverage on Emerging Markets, Japanese, Asia Pacific and North American Equity funds. He holds a BSc in Biological Sciences from the University of Leeds and the Investment Management Certificate.

Focus: Global, North American, and Japanese equity funds

Martin Ward

Senior Investment Research Analyst

Martin’s research coverage includes both equity and fixed income. Within equity, Martin covers UK equity Income and European equities. Turning to Fixed Income, his responsibilities focus on Gilts & IL Gilts, High Yield and Strategic Bonds. Previously, he has held senior research positions at both Punter Southall Wealth and Coutts. He holds a BA in Business Economics from the University of Reading, whilst also holding the Investment Management Certificate, Certificate in ESG investing and CIPM designation.

Henry Wix-Pollard

Investment Research Associate

Henry directs his attention toward investment analysis within the Fixed Income and Multi-Asset sectors. This includes both Fundamental and Quantitative data to help provide research for our Investment Management Team and Academy of Funds. Henry joined from Sound Financial Management where he was a Paraplanner conducting investment and fund research for private clients. Henry holds a BSc in Economics (Banking and Finance) from the University of Cardiff.
